THE COMPANY C STORY
It started with love – in more ways than one.
Founded in 1994, husband and wife team Walter and Christine Chapin started Company C in a garage behind their New Hampshire home. With Chris’ passion for creating handcrafted, colorful textiles and Walter’s love of business and travel, the two embarked on an entrepreneurial journey. They let color, design and adventure lead their inspiration and have been bringing exclusive, colorful products to life and delighting customers ever since.
Company C is now a premier design studio and leading manufacturer of exceptional home furnishings, backed by more than 2,500 dealers and designers nationwide. Headquartered in Concord, New Hampshire, Company C keeps the couple doing what makes them happy: translating color and design into beautiful rugs, bedding, fabrics, furniture, and accessories.
Color and Design — at the heart of everything we create.
We want Company C customers to experiment and understand how to use color in their home. Many of the signature designs are based on traditional patterns—floral designs, plaids, damask, paisleys and more —culled from a variety of sources, including vintage fabric swatches, fashion design, and discoveries from the couple’s travels. But Chris and her design team take a modern approach by infusing unexpected colors, texture and a bold scale to transform them into invitingly unique works of art. We offer so many stylish variations and unexpected options to mix, match, and make it easy to create a happy, colorful home.
Natural, colorful living is reflected in everything we do – from product design, to sourcing and business operations. We believe that quality starts with organically-inspired designs and responsibly sourced materials. Company C proudly supports environmental wellness. Cheerful sophistication. A colorful brand, we are happiness by design. Our mission is to inspire people to share the joys of colorful living. When it comes to color and design, it's personal — especially when creating a space that you love -you want it to truly reflect who you are.
C is for Color. Recognized for our use of saturated colors and over-scaled patterns, we encourage some risk taking when designing your home. So, go ahead and break traditional color rules -play, experiment, and be bold. We'll distract the "color police" so you can be free to be your most creative.
